Seems very reliable and knows what he's talking about but at one point he says, "I was going to a high profile area" meaning 38 an Chicago.
Prosecutor went out of his way to suggest the area was very safe. I expect defense to pounce on this.

(42,031 posts)1. He said that was because both 38th and Chicago were major thourghfares.
I think that issue will be revisited by the prosecution on redirect.

(129,729 posts)2. I wouldn't call the 38th and Chicago area "safe," exactly -
I'd rather not walk around there at night - but before the covid lockdown I drove by Cup Foods several times a week going to and from classes near downtown, and I wasn't at all worried about my safety. Lately it's become worse but there's been a crime spike here as in a lot of other cities.

with no cross by the defense. He was articulate and knowledgeable about his role as a police officer. He came across to me as credible. So maybe the defense didnt want to inadvertently open more doors for the prosecution as happened with a previous witness.
