Read over the section on Early Voting Hours. Dale accurately quotes President Biden saying, ""You're going to close a polling place at 5 o'clock when working people just get off?" Note that Biden did not specify closing polling places at 5 o'clock on Election Day. Yet, in calling Biden's statement "misleading," Dale inserts the specification of Election Day: "This is misleading for two reasons. First, the new law does not change Georgia's Election Day voting hours, which still end at 7 p.m." Biden didn't say it changed Election Day voting hours. This is a stretch by Dale to get to "misleading."

During his longer explanation, Dale says: "Even experts on election law told us the wording of the new law is confusing about weekday early voting hours in particular." But he sticks with his characterization of Biden's comment as "misleading." Is there really any doubt that despite the soothing things Republican office holders are NOW saying about their shiny new law, when push comes to shove and the outcome of the election is on the line that Republicans will adopt a much harder line on the law's interpretation? It's happened far too many times to bet against that. I submit the sloppy language of the law isn't accidental.
