Weren't the Republicans recently demanding barricades be removed from the capital?

They said there was no longer a need for them;
keeping them there was just a stunt and unnecessary.

I believe they said the barricades and fencing prevented their constituents from visiting.

Now those same people will send out their thoughts and prayers for the dead Capital police officer.

And in a few days they will be again demanding that the barricades and fencing be torn down to allow patriots to show up and say howdy.

It reminds me a 3rd world country.

This cop died defending that barricade. He gave his life for the barricade.

Yes we need to defend the capital. It's just sad that we need to.

Just a few years ago we were able to wander around the halls and offices of the Capital building un-escorted. I used to do that alot for fun whenever I visited DC. And yes- they do prevent people from visiting their congress people. How could they NOT?

Now it's like visiting a 3rd world war zone. It IS a war zone.

Eventually the razor wire and barricades will have to come down....or the perimeter expanded outward further and further.

Let's hope they come down instead of expanding.

No.

He died in the defense of the people behind the barricade.

Some, I don't know which ones, were calling for the removal of the fencing. The barricades have been in place for years. They're not going anywhere.

I think concrete barriers at government buildings went up after 9/11.

Republicans are being highly-criticized for spending the past several months demanding the security measures enacted after the January 6 insurrection, including additional fencing, be removed – claiming there is no longer any danger or threat.

Friday afternoon a man rammed his car into a Capitol Hill barricade, exited and began slashing or stabbing at two Capitol Hill police officers, killing one of them. That suspect was shot and died. The other officer is reportedly in critical condition.

It's time for our National Guard to be sent home to their families, the razor wire wall be removed from the U.S. Capitol grounds, and our great military no longer be used by Democrats as a political tool to harass the press, Congress, and Americans who want to visit our Capitol.
