I am a fan of Walt Disney World. I have been a number of times and for example my son and I were there during Hurricane Harvey (the storm was a tropical storm when we left and by the time we had gotten back to the room that night it was too late to fly back). It was not a fun trip.
You can spend a great deal on a trip if you go during peak seasons. Right now, it is spring break time and the room rates are high. I am going in early May have a very good rate. This idiot did not spend $15,000 on this trip and it was clear that this idiot did not read the materials on the rules being imposed by WDW

Instead, the Baton Rouge resident like several other Disney World guests who have defied coronavirus restrictions visited Orange County Jail.
Amid heightened precautions for the virus at the major Florida tourist attraction, Sills, 47, skipped the temperature screening required of guests, authorities said. He was confronted by security about it at a Disney Springs restaurant, the Boathouse, when he yelled and refused to leave, according to an Orange County Sheriffs Office arrest report from Feb. 13. When deputies insisted he would be charged with trespassing, he pointed to how much he spent on his vacation, according to body camera footage released this week.....
The confrontations at Disney World come as other parts of Florida have had to ramp up enforcement when rowdy tourists flocked to the state that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has promoted as less restrictive. While spring break revelers descended on South Florida, DeSantis praised how busy the area was compared to cities in other states with stricter covid-19 guidelines, such as New York City. He has touted the states distribution of vaccines and argued it is safe to visit.
I get my temperature taken at each doctor's visit. I know the rules at Disney and I have no trouble wearing a mask. I will be wearing my CDC vaccination card on a lanyard
If you are an idiot trump supporter, please stay away from Walt Disney World. There are rules and stupid trump suppoters will get no special privileges

That is a low blow on Louisiana, we have enough issues without misinformation and mean-spirited speculation.

(14,861 posts)when they published the results of this survey yesterday?
A new survey from Louisiana State University shows that one-third of the states residents refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The results are from the 2021 Louisiana Survey, which recently released its second of five reports tracking opinions on Louisiana government and issues related to the pandemic.
In its recent findings, by early March, 32% of Louisiana residents said they had not yet received the vaccine and did not intend to do so even when they are eligible.

A pay stub .. from around the time the crash occurred showed Coastal Bridge deducted his health insurance from his paycheck.

We went looking for Kelly Sills at his office ... Sills was sitting at the front desk ...
Sills did not want to answer questions .. about not paying his employees health insurance ...

... The state has had contracts with Coastal Bridge since 2012. The 9News Investigators uncovered the state has fined Coastal more than $750,000 for 24 different projects the company did not finish on time. Despite the delays, Coastal keeps getting jobs with the state, including repairing the damaged Sunshine Bridge. DOTD says the way the public bid law is written, the lowest bidder is awarded the project. As long as Coastal and other contractors have the surety bonds to cover the fines, they can continue bidding ...

(3,557 posts)Im willing to bet that the temperature check at Disney is as quick and easy as it is when I visit my doctor. You stand in front of a kiosk, the kiosk almost instantly gets your temperature, then either says you are good to go or not.
As far as spending 15K, the person might be exaggerating, but it would be easy to do. I think some of the rooms at the Polynesian resort are $2,000+ a night

(59,507 posts)From the link:
He was arrested on the first night of what was a five-day trip with his family, a rare reprieve for which he had paid thousands, he said. Two hotel rooms, air travel and admission to Disney and Universal for seven to eight people set him back, he said.
Needless to say, that has nothing to do with his behavior and how much he paid does not give him the privilege to not follow the rules.
The amount still sounds high, but they may have two very expensive rooms, expensive air tickets, and 5 day passes for 9. Maybe he even had bundled meals in - does Disney have all inclusive?
