Can we petition the White House to give Dolly Parton a Presidential Medal?

I know a lot of people worked on the Various Vaccines and a lot of them deserve a medal Hell even a Nobel prize in Medicine for what they did and how quickly.


I just feel Dolly does deserve some sort of honest/ respect for basically giving money to find the Moderna Vaccine.

during Covid, she’s concerned that accepting now would look like a political statement.

9. It was offered by President Biden, she said no.

She turned Trump down twice, once when her husband was sick and a second time when she simply could not schedule a visit.

She turned President Biden down because she doesn’t want her past turndowns of Trump to look political.

I can think of one situation where she can get the medal. I believe that President Biden will invite Trump to the White House to present Trump’s presidential portrait (unfortunately the asshole gets one). During that visit, a separate, smaller presentation can be done where Biden and Trump hang the PMF around Parton’s neck. I really believe that President Biden is such a decent person that having Trump as part of the medal award ceremony won’t bother him. The question is whether Trump would go along with any of it.

4. I'm pretty sure Biden is a fan. I feel certain I can recall a press question about it in which Biden

said as much and that (paraphrase) "of course he'd want to honor her."

So, I'd guess this is already in the works at some point.

I'm not sure any Medals of Freedom should be awarded for a few months yet. We need time for the stink of the awards by the former guy to clear the room.

Her efforts funding a vaccine just elevated her higher.

She is the type of American that deserves the award, not divisive people like the late rightwing idiot.

About how his mother was a costume maker/seamstress and had made several outfits for one of Dolly's tours. Supposedly he tried a few on.
