Okay, maybe not that much but it's remarkable.
He inherited one of the worst responses to the pandemic of any of the industrialized nations - a situation lapped by Canada and most of Europe.
Yet he was able to turn it around so rapidly that right now, the US is actually doing better in terms of vaccinating, and handling the pandemic, than most every industrialized nation - including our neighbors to the north.
This is remarkable for a country that was so behind the ball - but even more significant when you factor in just how big America is.
It's night and day ... a complete reversal from where we were under the last administration.
I really hope Biden gets the credit he deserves on this.

He deserves recognition. Not sure that the Peace Prize is appropriate at this time, but would not be at all surprised if it is later.

(12,424 posts)All I keep thinking is, "Great job, Joe!" and "The is a monumental fucking deal!" and various other simplistic exclamations but how to contextualize the enormity of the turnaround that his leadership has accomplished? What's the unit of measure? The millions who will live who would've died? The many more who will find their lives more assuredly sustainable? The hundreds of millions of lives that will return to a normalcy they had once taken for granted and now miss desperately? The Nobel Peace Prize is a good start, puts that stake in the ground; it will be left to history to handle the rest.
