23 y.o. who attended multiple NCAA b-ball games dies of Covid

Health officials in Indianapolis are investigating potential COVID-19 exposures at the NCAA tournament following the death of an Alabama fan.

Luke Ratliff died on Friday at 23 years old. An Alabama student and a leader of the school's basketball fan club Crimson Chaos, Ratliff was one of Alabama's most visible fans. His father, Bryan Ratliff, confirmed his death Friday night.

According to the Tuscaloosa News, Ratliff traveled to Indianapolis and attended games during Alabama's NCAA tournament run, which ended last weekend in a Sweet 16 loss to UCLA. He returned to Tuscaloosa on Monday.

The Marion County Public Health Department confirmed to the Indianapolis Star on Saturday that it was investigating whether anyone in Indianapolis was exposed to COVID-19 by an Alabama resident and that it had contacted the Alabama Department of Health. It did not confirm that Ratliff was the subject of its investigation.

Another carefree 20 something who thinks they will be fine if they catch the virus.

It's amazing he sacrificed himself for some basketball games that mean nothing in his life.

So, it's extra infuriating that he didn't seem to take the needed precautions. While younger people don't typically die from COVID, most who do are likely pretty overweight.

Just sad all around.

I'm done having sympathy for those who don't take this virus seriously, and then get ill or die.

I'll save my tears for the thousands who were careful, yet contracted it anyways, and then passed away.

Attending multiple basketball games in person, and probably not taking every precaution possible, was more important to him.

without masks and making NO attempt to social distance. It seem that they don’t read or listen to the news, ever.

Walking in, walking around the store. No mask, no attempt to social distance, acting like nothing is going on. Honestly, it is hard to feel sorry for that type if they get sick.

Not to start a whole new thing, tho, but I'm sure these people are diabetic and don't control that, also. So, no surprise.

Wouldn't want COVID 19 to knock a team out of the championship. What's a little death, among champions!

he was not wearing a mask. His death may have been avoided if he just wore a piece of cloth on his face.
