Georgia county says removal of All-Star game will cost tourism $100M

Cobb County, Ga., estimates that Major League Baseball's (MLB) decision to remove the All-Star Game from Atlanta will cost the tourism industry in the area $100 million.

MLB pulled the All-Star Game out of Georgia on Friday in protest of the state’s controversial new voting law, signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp (R) last month.

The decision was the furthest a company has gone in protest of the legislation which has tightened voting restrictions.

What does Georgia usually do when the All Star Game isn't held there? Do that.

But if you're really upset about all this, make sure you affix blame where it belongs: Georgia Republicans. After a squeaky clean election and run-off, Republicans simply couldn't deal with losing fair and square, and are trying to rig the game back in their favor. They thought they'd get away with it again, as they have so many times before in various states and with various subterfuges. Instead, their little stunt wheeled around and bit them on the backside.

burning down Atlanta again would be punishing the 100's of thousands of Democrats who helped put Biden, Ossoff and Warner over the top in Georgia last election. Please don't paint us all with such a broad brush!

Any boycotting Georgia Dems engage in that might be detrimental to themselves will likely be short-lived.

North Carolina caved pretty quickly on the transgender issue.

Stupid MFers should not have given credence to trump’s lies about the election. The court challenges will be interesting. KKKemp is ticking both sides off.

Coca Cola is worldwide. If they become a symbol of class/political warfare, their sales will skyrocket. It's a cheap beverage available to all.

The Republican response is a huge mistake. They're still taking orders from Trump. And THAT'S ALSO a huge mistake.

National debt was under $1 trillion when Reagan started our slide.

Voter suppression must be a focus of outrage. Every eligible voter must be motivated to fight back by voting.
