If it needs updating, you just copy the information onto a new card, and update that.

The sleeve prevents both issues. You do as you like. I merely point out these ARE issues that can be alleviated with an alternative to laminating--which I presented to any who are interested. I do not sell these, in case that was what you were about to suggest.

BTW, did you know that a social security card that has been laminated is not accepted according to current rules for employers and SS agencies? Just saying... I had to go get another and wait in line for most of the day because I thought it such a good idea to merely laminate the card... Who knows if something similar will come to pass with vaccination cards, if for some reason, a change in heart re: vaccine passports develops.

I'm just pointing out that there's nothing magical about the original card that anyone has to keep that one for updates. They're not being notarized or anything.

for any future boosters, which lamination precludes.

I honestly don't know why my posting on an alternative I'd found seemed to rankle you. I can only assume you thought I was making a profit off of these. I am NOT. They come from sellers in China in about 2 weeks after purchase, sold from Amazon. I purchased one for myself and two colleagues and thought they were a good solution.

...on Amazon for $30. Supplier gets high marks and delivery is due Thursday. Gonna hand out 25-30 to family and friends and then probably the rest to smiling strangers.... Smaller amounts were much higher per unit and this mass seller had nothing smaller than 100 packs or larger. So I'll gift a bunch of people for short money and get the rest back in smiles.

on the plastic. I wouldn't recommend this long term.

I've made photo copies of our cards, scanned and saved a digital copy and then laminated the photo copies in case the card has to be updated with a booster.

Why not link it to DMV? What worries me is people forging them, the document does not seem that sophisticated.

The may be some reason someone need to see the original and not the copy.

The thing is an odd ball size so it does not fit into a wallet without folding. Don't care about folding the copy.

By the way it sleeve that fits it as int the photo may be the size they sell for displaying hunting licenses.

I have heard of some laminating processes smearing the ink on the original.

The other reason for not laminating the original is that we may require a booster is some nasty variant comes up not covered by the original shots.

.

If you laminate it, it can't be revised.

The people at the vaccination center said just to take pictures of it.

You have to watch laminates, because if it's a home unit, they will eventually separate and feel the paper in half.
