When Might A Majority Of People In Your State Be Fully Vaccinated? (scroll down for 3rd Chart)

for the United States generally the projected date for 70% fully vaccinated is August 6, 2021 and 85% by September 11, but there is wide disparity particularly in Republican dominated states which are looking well into 2022 to reach these levels. And I guess you could break this down further into discrete communities within each state. Anyway its interesting and I haven't seen it mentioned here

nearly half of FL voters voted Democrat. They're not spreading a disease holocaust out of spite to "own the Dems."

Then there are the 20% of retirees, a solid majority of whom are now vaccinated while others have been waiting anxiously for the various venues to get their bureaucratic asses in gear. Retirees, after all, were the first (able) to self isolate and the restaurants they patronized the first to be in trouble.

That leaves conservative non-retirees, and they're not all crazy or stupid. Most of those we know are either already vaccinated or fully intend to be. Well, most of those we know are actually in Georgia, but that's another knuckledragging state, right now behind even FL.

But her retirement community said everyone had to get vaxxed and sent a nurse to each household. She could have made a stink, but Auntie hates to make scenes, so she just complied. Peer pressure! LOL.

Anyway, almost everyone in her community (which was very Trumpy) got the shot because it was just easier to do that than to resist. I think there'll be a lot of that sort of grudging compliance-- mothers telling their daughters, "Well, if you insist, and if you drive me down, I'll do it."

And lots of people in assisted living, nursing homes, etc. I suspect that helps the average.

Also, Sioux Falls was hit pretty hard and I think there's a lot less resistance there as a result. SF has more than 1/4 of the state's total population so if their vaccination rate is high, it also influences the average pretty significantly.

29% of those over 65 haven’t gotten vaccinated. And the daily change is extremely slow. What is the fk**ng problem? 80% of covid deaths are among those over 65. Willie Sutton robbed banks because that was where the money was. Why can’t we get this group of 15 million people vaccinated faster?

are catching up somewhat with FIRST-dose %s as high as some states doing better. So looks like the rates are revving up a bit even in states handicapped with criminally obstructive red governments.

The emphasis on vaccinations at thousands of local pharmacies, just like getting flu shots, going around state health departments, is really going to help. People have already proven they like that best anyway.

I suspect we will be the first state to be fully vaccinated. Any anti-vaccers are a distinct minority here. It's also a state that, despite the expected grumbling from Republicans, has been good about shutting down and mask wearing. I never see unmasked people in stores.

one dose:

Doses distributed to state: 1,486,525
Doses administered: 1,281,047
Percentage of distributed vaccines that have been administered: 86.18

New Mexico's population is just over 2 million. I don't get where they are saying only 40% of the population has received 1 dose.

This state is doing an amazing job of getting the vaccine out there. Not sure about the percentage you are giving, but I do know that we are well ahead of everyone else.

Not to mention, people here (at least in northern NM where I am) are being extremely good about masks.

I am so very glad I moved here in 2008.

be inconsistent. Here in Pennsylvania, there are reports that 30% have gotten at least 1 dose of vaccine, but then you see numbers like 5.4M plus 1M total infections and it's getting close to 50% with some level of protection.

It looks like MI will hit 100% in October '21. Nope, it will hit 80% in August/September, then stall.

Getting a shot is even more defeatist, sheepish, herd-like than wearing a mask. We strong individualists, all wearing matching plaid flannel shirts, will refuse this imposition on our rights.

I'm just glad spouse and I got ours before it was opened up to everyone over age 16. We got our second Moderna Apr 1, which, by coincidence, was the date of the Tiger home opening game.
