Like he's in the ring with Tyson.
One of those communities was Lakewood Ranch in Manatee County just south of Tampa. In February, the governor announced he was giving 3,000 doses to the community.
But what the governor didn't mention was that Lakewood Ranch developer Pat Neal has donated $135,000 to the Friends of Ron DeSantis PAC.
Or that only residents from two ZIP codes would be allowed to get the shots and those two ZIP codes have some of highest income levels and lowest COVID infection rates in the county.

(3,062 posts)I suspect Donnie's dad had a few affairs and one was with a Mrs. DeSantis. Twin sons of different mothers.

(19,205 posts)We'll probably never know the true toll of the pandemic in Florida, both in number of cases, and total deaths. DeSatan is the most greasy Governor Florida has ever had, and that's saying a lot.

(31,261 posts)But it gets back to what LBJ said, I truly believe he understood the makeup of many poor White Americans souls If you convince the lowest White man that he is better than the best Colored man, he wont notice that you are picking his pockets. Hell, convince him that he is better than any Colored man, he will empty his pockets for you.
I see desperately poor White people driving around with Trump stickers on their beaten up vehicles.

(5,505 posts)If so I wonder if the white people in Georgia hope major corporations pull out of the state and take the affluent African-Americans with them. Maybe they'd rather be more like Mississippi. They still get to keep their 2 senators. Maybe doubling down on Jim Crowesque laws is the long term strategy to drives progressives (of races) out.

(7,440 posts)or you can be pissed at people who compete for your meager wages. If you were a ruler and your pockets were filled from wealth that the poorer classes deserved, which would you prefer?
It's one of the oldest tricks in the book. You shouldn't be pissed at ME, you should be pissed at THEM!

(31,261 posts)world will NEVER go back to a simpler time. I deal with lots of White people of many economic strata, my whole family does, we are business people. I dont deal much with poor Whites, but I have one brother that does and because of that, I sometimes meet that type of White person. Despite what some here would believe, it is not as simple as pure racism, my family is Black, we make a good living dealing with White customers and get constantly referred to other Whites. There is some poor understanding of Blacks as a group by the Whites that I have met, but when they deal with a Black person one on one, strong friendships develop and they watch out for your interests. There are Whites that are pure racists and nothing will change them, but the majority of Whites present a more complex picture.
I truly believe that things have definitely changed for the better and although some Whites may want to go back 90 years, they cant, the modern world will make them pay severely for trying to go back 90 years. I sometimes think about when I was in K12 school, during that time I only had three White kids who I could say were friends, the rest either cautiously dealt with me, or acted like I didnt exist - today, I see lots of Black and White school kids who are very best friends, that is natural to them.

frankly...... we all know nothing will come of it. using open bribery to decide who lives and who dies is not going to result in any consequences for desatan in FL.

(1,969 posts)But as of tomorrow in Florida Vaccines are open to anyone 16 and over. In Massachusets you still have to be over 60 like it was a member of the EU or something.
Florida does a lot of things wrong,,, And DeSantis is a disaster.... But attacking him on vaccine distribution seems like a poor strategy when some of the country still haven't opened their vaccines to all eligible adults. (And trust me, Floridians are very well aware of the vaccine troubles in places like New Jersey (65) and Massachusetts (60). They are worried for their kids safety and asking them to come to Florida to get jabbed and be safe.

I know plenty of people under 65 who have been vaccinated, including myself.
Just about everyone I know has been vaccinated.

(1,969 posts)I apologize if I have that wrong. I do know that non-political Floridians (IE those I had Easter brunch with down in Sarasota) are thrilled that everyone can get their shots here (and the relative ease most of them had getting an appointment) and the concerns they have with family members living in states where they are still not eligible.
