... not as bad as Jim Crow was in the 1800s !?!?
You're kidding me, you can't have more of a brain dead comparison between when black people were burned alive for breathing to now in regards to voting.
... and fuck your guest who claimed "next to New York GA doesn't look so bad" on any voting issue, New York isn't coming up with laws to make aspects of voting MORE constrictive than the last election.
The M$M is used to sniffing their own asses and people don't like them enough to tell them their thinking is stinking.
EDIT:
The two black guest on Scar is now going to why his thinking was fucked up ... good for them !!
We don't proffer stupid and illegal and racist premises to "balance" thinking

Scar is leaving your part out of the list he put up on the screen in regards to voting restrictions while people who are against what the GA kGQP is doing is adding everything.

(182,603 posts)The follow up commentators threw cold water on Joes argument following Gov. Kemp. Compared to New York? Because MLB is HQed there? Coke isnt. Thats pure right wing pablum. Joe followed their framing.
One thing they missed was that Georgia was codifying rules changed during the pandemic but used it to make unnecessary restrictions. Transferring power to legislature. The max number of machines set to the most you can put in one location. Etc. the key in these situations isnt just what the law says but how they allow for changes in enforcement locally - thats where actual power exists.
Going back to what was done to throw the election to Kemp over Abrams and the history of Georgia being sued are context that Kemp and Joe purposefully ignored.

(35,295 posts)calling this Jim Crow 2.0 and Jim Crow on steroids. Making such extreme statements don't help us IMO. I keep hearing
there have been 300 or more laws passed this year restricting voting rights if this is the one we are up in arms about what
happens when someone really does come up with Jim Crow 2.0? The one part that gives the legislature power over to remove local
election officials seems to me like the most troublesome part. I don't know do other states already do that? This morning is the first time I heard anything about that. The major complaints I have heard is giving people food and water and restricting hours. Even Stacy Abrams seems to think this has gone overboard, how does it help us if companies move out of the state and it hurts
the very people it is supposed to help. Like shooting ourselves in the foot. I am not saying I support the law but lets not cry wolf
every time we disagree with something.

(90,301 posts)... most atrocious for acknowledgement.
Relatively speaking what is happening in GA and kGQP is anti America and treasonous not just Jim Crow on steroids.
We don't need to go back to black people being burned alive for breathing to call what the kGQP doing horrid and horrendous.
What the kGQP is doing is such because it goes against what America stands for; one person one vote
"Even Stacy Abrams seems to think this has gone overboard, how does it help us if companies move out of the state and it hurts"
Out of context relatively speaking
and
I don't agree with Abrams here, what has worked in the past is when money talked on the other hand talking to money has never worked ... they don't move.
So 1 month don't go to x place of business campaign by people who believe making it easier to vote is the right thing to do speaks louder than talking to people who act like they don't want to move. If the leadership of these companies leadership need to be persuaded to pay attention to democracy then they're on the wrong side of corporate leadership community in this country to begin with.
after 1/6 we don't have time to screw around with people who don't want democracy

.... that Joe Biden and other Democrats made the exact same "brain dead" comparison.
When Joe Biden and other Democrats made that comparison long before today's Morning Joe, as far as I could tell, not one single DUer pointed out how "brain dead" that was.

(6,280 posts).... that the laws the GOP passed is worse than when "black people were burned alive for breathing".
Here is the thing. Joe Biden says what the GOP is doing is Jim Crow on steroids. How is that not making a comparison, when you yourself liken it to a " brain dead comparison"?
Just because Joe Biden used the words "on steroids" does not alter the fact that he is making a comparison.
Again, a comparison you refer to as "brain dead".
I guess it all depends on which Joe is saying it. 🤔
