when i had my college days , i took a course called ," geology of the national parks " . my particualr study was magma and or lava. i can hear my former instructor calling and telling me about it and we were on top of the situation before hand . new vent opend up today.

(39,698 posts)The new long fissure opened up about 500 meters away, and it's flowing into totally new real estate.
We will soon have THREE spatter cones. Hell, maybe even more, because the fissure is a couple of hundred meters long.
Really cool stuff, and yet we have to remember this whole episode is really small potatoes in the bigger scheme of things,
