how little sympathy I have for the people who ignorantly let Trump steal thousands of dollars from each of them."
Most will vote for him again in '24 if he runs.
If they are looking for sympathy, it's in the dictionary between "shit" and "syphilis ".

Here's how sorry I feel for them, even though it was a particularly sleazy move on the part of their Maximum Leader:

I feel about that the same way I feel about those bamboozled by the tv grifter preachers. Yes, they were STUPID to be so manipulated, but it is tragic, nonetheless.

(8,788 posts)the tragedy is their mindset...the guy in hospice saw nothing wrong with the horror that was/is Trump...he knew what he was doing with his supposed one-time only "Trump is my guy" donation ...Trump fleeced him...oh, well

(114,504 posts)especially when that theft has been enough that their bills are going unpaid. What those bastards did to people, especially old people, is unconscionable. Yes, they didn't read the fine print, but that fine print shouldn't have been there in the first place. The whole thing was set up as a grifting operation.
A few of them might wake up to what that man is but you're right, most of them won't. However, I would suspect that their days of contributing online are over.

(4,170 posts)Years and years ago, I did volunteer work with the elderly and one lady in particular was just the best person ever. I would get her mail in for her when I arrived at her house and one day noticed that she was getting a lot of money from the PTL Club (Jim Bakker). God only knows how much money he stole from her. It broke my heart to see how devoted she was to that criminal, and yes, I had sympathy for her.

Fortunately, this lady was very old money, rich as Croesus, and relied on religious bullshit to help her cope with an alcoholic husband, so I kept my trap shut as she showed off all her televangelist bling.
It's just very different when they're scamming money from people whose Social Security isn't allowing them enough to eat, and that's what Dumdum's gang of grifters was doing. At least the televangelist scams had an element of choice, Dumdum's grifting was involuntary on the part of the suckers.

(22,341 posts)I do feel sorry for them, the same way I feel sorry for the people on those Dr. Phil episodes about fake online love scams. I mean, I kind of get why some feel that Chump cultists don't deserve our pity, but I pity them anyway.

I thought they would scam people into making donations.
Never heard of one that gave money to people.

(8,807 posts)He bilked the people in the fall and paid them back with money he raised after the election to pay lawyers and stop the steal. My guess is his lawyers will be left to hold the bag of IOU' S because he will tell them they weren't very good lawyers, didn't win him any cases.

(42,770 posts)think that it is a privilege to work for Trump. He said at first there was absolutely no mention of compensation. Almost like it was understood that you didn't get paid. Cohen eventually had to ask to be paid.
You are suggesting that out of the $100+m tab to people that need to be paid back for their multiple debit contributions that the lawyers will pay that?
