Suicides fall in 2020 by 5.5% from 2019 and 6.5% from 2018

It's been posted already, but not everyone has seen it. This deserves to get shared everywhere, the GOP (who don't really care about mental health) have been using this talking point for 12 months, make sure everyone knows that thankfully they were wrong.

https://www.vox.com/2021/4/6/22368210/suicides-covid-19-coronavirus-lockdown-2020

Suicides down 2600 in 2020 from 2019 and 3100 from 2018.

And thank the GOPers in your life for raising awareness about this serious issue, mental health in the US needs to improve, and raising awareness was good no matter what the reasons. This is a very difficult issue in this country and the US can do better on mental health, getting some allies, no matter how, is a positive.

And this isn't to downplay the very real stress and depression the last year did cause, it was hell for a lot of people to be home away from work/school. This just highlights that less people took their own lives, and that's always a good thing.

I'm a bit of an introvert, didn't realize how much of one until this last year, but working from home has relieved a great deal of stress from my daily life.

And I get that a lot of kids like structure and change is stressful to many of them, but I also know a lot of them loved being away from school and the stress that being at school causes them. Bullying was much less prevalent I imagine.
