(2,472 posts)But both parents did and some friends have. For those who had side effects beyond a sore arm and headache, it took them 6-8hrs it seems(got it in the morning, started feeling it by evening). A couple didn't feel real bad till the next day.

(4,613 posts)but about 48 hours after the first I still had sore arm, and then had muscle aches and stiffness, major headache and fatigue. Was fine by the day after that. Hoping that I got that out of the way after the first and won't have anything but the sore arm after I get the second shot on the 15th.

(2,472 posts)But I have heard, and was told by the pharmacist who gave me my first shot, that the 2nd one seems to be the rougher of the two for most people. He advised me to plan on taking the next day off work.

(60,831 posts)I took a nap in the afternoon, which I never do and was still a bit tired when I woke up. The next day, I was fine. My temperature was a bit high for me, but not above 99 degrees.
Good luck

(38,389 posts)Shot on Friday; busy Sat and Sun am planned. Other than a little arm pain, I felt fine until Sun afternoon, when I crashed. Slept off and on for 15 hours. The rest of the week I felt very tired at times.

(10,877 posts)AFAIK there is no correlation between feeling side effects and how well the immunization is working.
Most folks don't get noteable side effects yet pretty much everyone is protected.

(16,254 posts)The nap was probably more due to the fact I don't sleep well at night and was up at 3:30 am in anticipation. Other than that, I've had absolutely no problems.
Good luck!

(3,557 posts)I got the shot at 9:00 a.m. and I started to feel a little drained around 3:00. I took a nap and woke up at about 2 hours later and felt alright, but still drained. By about 9:00 p.m. I was definitely not feeling well. I felt better about 36 hours later.
DayQuil / NyQuil helped a lot.

(823 posts)At 11PM, I started going through chill/hot cycles with little to no sleep. At around 5:45 AM yesterday, I started feeling a bit better so decided to go to work (I work remotely). About 3 hours later, I was flat out on the bed and remained there for the rest of the day. I could not breathe through my nose, had a terrible head ache, felt totally run-down, was nauseous, didn't eat anything all day, drank lots of water and was doted on by my husband who got his shot at around 10:30 yesterday. I am much better today, though not 100% (I can breathe, have more energy, and am able to eat). My husband, who I mentioned got his yesterday, has had no side effects worth mentioning other than a dull muscle ache in his upper back (though that could be from bench pressing and lat pulls
. He is over the 24 hour mark so we are hopeful he won't have any.

(3,826 posts)In fact, my arm was less sore from the second shot than from the first.
And that was the only effect I could detect both times.

(3,379 posts)My 2nd shot was it about 3:30 pm. I on my had a mild sore arm, which didn't interfere with anything. I didn't sleep very well that might, but I had disruptions from kids and cats in the middle of the night. By 10am the next day, I was fatigued and developed a fever. I hovered at 102.5 for the entire day, which I spent laying on the couch. I also had a lot of sinus pressure. Even though I had the fever, fatigue, and son is pressure, I didn't feel truly sick. Blah, yes. Sick, no. I will admit I totally milked it all day.
My fever broke overnight and I had no lingering symptoms. So....shot on a Saturday, symptoms Sunday, woke up fine on Monday.

(10,695 posts)but that's not unusual because I'm old, zero other symptoms. My husband had mild fatigue, mild aches and chills. He took a four hour nap and it was gone.

(58,785 posts)but for sure next day he had fatigue that kept him vegging all day and modest headache. I had nothing the first day, a little itch at the site for the next 2-3 days. I was actually glad of the reassurance that something was happening.
Wishing you nothing more, USALiberal.

(1,579 posts)The next day and third day they had a sore arm. The forth day it was usually gone. Very few had flu symptoms. I don't recall anyone saying they had problems the same day.
