Livid at what they see as corporate Americas progressive posturing on cultural issues, top Republicans are pushing for swift retribution and targeting those companies bottom lines.
In recent days, GOP leaders have encouraged boycotts against a group of companies that have condemned or pulled business from states that have passed more restrictive voting laws. The appetite for punitive measures hasnt ended there. Republicans are also encouraging state and federal officials to utilize the tax code as a means of hitting back at, what they deem to be, woke capitalism. And theyre targeting some of the most iconic American brands from Delta and Coca Cola to Major League Baseball in the process.
The GOP response... is the successful playbook for how these fights will be won moving forward, said former Office of Management and Budget director Russ Vought, whose new group, the Center for American Restoration, is largely focused on cultural issues.
Boycotts may or may not work, but what will work is to identify every unique benefit these woke companies get under the law and remove them and require they operate as all other companies in those states have to, Vought added.

Trump: 'Boycott all of the woke companies' opposing voter laws like Georgia's
Former President Trump on Tuesday called for Republicans to boycott companies who are opposed to voting laws like the one recently signed into law by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R).
In a statement released by Trump's Save America PAC, the former president claimed that the voter law signed by Kemp did not tighten voting restrictions enough.

(22,093 posts)the republican thugs costs a company millions of dollars in one particular area, I wouldn't blame that company for shutting down operations, laying off people, in response to these pathetic responses by republicans. An eye for an eye, eh? You hurt me in my pocket book in either FL or Georgia or TX or anyplace considering such legislation as Georgia did, so I'm going to close factories in each of those places/cut spending/cut hiring/etc., as well as slash PAC donations. The list can go on and on, and I dare say that the republicans will run out of money long before these companies do.
The republicans are showing just how much of a class act they truly are (they're NOT), and are acting like a 5 year child.
