(3,623 posts)Sometimes I want to just throw my hands and go....that's the problem, there isn't any place else to go. I and we are stuck here with these people who have no moral or ethical code whatsoever. And some how we have to learn to cope with them and eventually defeat them if there is to be a future for America. Makes me really, really sad/mad/depressed/angry, but at least I know I have some morals and some ethics. What spineless pieces of shit these people are.

(63,221 posts)I can't even comment on most of this stuff lately because it is so mind-bendingly insane, that I feel like I am living in a reality that I don't have words for. I just want to pull my covers over my head until they all go away.
It is beyond frustrating. There has got to be an end to it eventually. This madness cannot go on much longer.

(3,623 posts)the generations coming up. Somehow I feel responsible for this mess. And it is a mess. But thanks for letting me know I'm not alone and frustrating is the correct word. Thank heavens for Biden and Harris. I think we have a shot to turn things around.

(15,532 posts)Since we were all faced with keeping mostly to ourselves for a year now, what I've seen in that year makes me feel like I may just continue keeping within my very small little bubble so that I don't have to hear or see much about and from these idiots in our country. I'm mostly content to read, walk in nature, listen to music, stream whatever TV I am in the mood for, make a nice meal, maybe talk on the phone to my friends and some of my family. As much as I used to love travel, I'm not even that excited about it any longer. Can't even visit Canada and they're only a half-hour away from me.

(10,037 posts)In Canada, we find our politicians pretty boring, although they make some stupid statements and do some stupid things, they have never been bat shit crazy like you have in the US.

(3,623 posts)I know there are always going to be a few idiots, but I never imagined a political world like we have now. Enjoy the show. Hopefully the plot will shift in a few years. I so fervently hope.

(3,623 posts)to other countries. I believe we have an obligation to others who are trying to support/enact democracy. Currently the United States is an example of both the best and the worst (almost) of what can happen to governments. I sincerely and deeply hope that we become a positive object lesson. I'm afraid that it is still undecided. At least we have Joe Biden and Kamala Harris at the helm. We have a chance of pulling this off and resetting a lot of thinking and creating positive results. There will always be a few idiots, but I'm ok with that. I just want the majority of my law makers actually committed to doing the best they can for me and the rest of the US citizens.

(10,037 posts)and soon spend time with our families without dirty politics being the subject of so many conversations. I just want to breath and chill out again. I do hope the Biden admin can make this happen. I will breath easier for your country when the voting rights and infrastructure are passed. To me the worst will be over then.

(2,499 posts)It would be one thing if their stupidity benefitted them - but it doesn't. The same politicians they support to keep some boogeyman at bay are the same politicians who could give two spits whether they live on the street or die from an infected hangnail. So while they scream at lazy immigrants stealing their jobs or any number of batshit nutteries, they're not just owning the libs, they're owning themselves but are too damn stupid to know otherwise.
As long as someone points a boogeyman to them, they'll stay stupid and angry and vote against their bests interests - and that of the country.

Prez Joe, Kamala, Chuck, Nancy, Elizabeth, Jen, Pete, Stacy, The Rev, AOC, Bernie, Tammy, Amy, Beto...the list of progressive heroes goes on and on.
I was a preteen in the 1960's but I feel the same positive energy in the face of atrocity now that I felt then.
It's deja vu all over again. And this time around We can make sure time the epilogue is going to be different.

(3,994 posts)The demographic losses do take time as non-white voters 'grow up' so to speak and vote more for Dems. Still, it's a tide they can't stop. But the loss of business donations can occur swiftly and have a greater short-term impact.
Odd that the Turtleman just doesn't keep quiet here. I suspect he's shook that corporations, and big ones at that, have so swiftly turned on the R's and on him. Glad he's so openly loud about telling them to shut-up about bad political moves like GA's law yet asking for the cash to keep flowing in, I don't think his words will be taken well by many corporate honchos who never like to be told to shut up!
