Leave it up to Arkansas. . .

I lived there for a few short years. They were the worst years I've ever spent ANYWHERE. I knew some nice people, but most of them were some really clueless Trump Humpers. . . .

And the politicians? Sheesh. It's hard to believe that J.W. Fulbright, Dale Bumpers, David Pryor, and Bill Clinton were all in politics there, as the current crop is truly horrendous.

But I know the types who elected those assholes, and I am so damn glad I don't live there anymore. I cooled my heels for 3 years there for a job, and I had to get out or go crazy.

I got pretty fucking tired of people asking me where I went to church, and I was disgusted with them assuming I was a repig simply because I'm caucasian. . . Ugh.

I couldn't quarrel with the people who were nice, as I really liked them.

But a lot of them just didn't get an old, secular (agnostic) Jew with a grouchy attitude. . . .

and moved my mom and their family around the country quite a bit. One of the stops was Arkansas, where they lived for some time in the 1950s. So, as teenager she witnessed segregation first-hand in her school and town, and told me all about it and the people with which she attended church.

So, despite having never even visited there once in my lifetime, I get wat you're saying.

They are all like that, especially once you get outside the larger cities.

and now I really can't imagine doing so. I've visited most of the states, and spent a fair bit of time in Georgia and Florida. No thanks.
