smallest working dog - 2.2 pound therapy dog

A huge honor for a tiny South Jersey working dog

And as of Saturday, the 3-year-old mini Yorkshire terrier is the newly crowned “world’s smallest working dog” by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Just 6 inches long, 5.7 inches high and 2.5 fluffy pounds, Lucy was unfazed by the huge honor and heightened attention, says Absecon owner Sally Leone Montufar.

Homeless and out of work two years ago, Lucy now works as a therapy dog through the Cherry Hill program Leashes of Love, visiting hospitals, nursing homes and special schools often in dog dresses and bonnets.

“She likes being naked … but I make a lot of clothes,” says Montufar, the former owner of Paw Dazzle in Historic Smithville.

Too small for me also. I like my pets a little larger. But agree about the cuteness. Liberal_in_LA Jan 2012 #4

I'd never have such a tiny dog around my own home, but when I see one in my travels the urge to cuddle it is irresistible.

I like bigger dogs, I find it hard to constantly look on the floor for the little guys, but it's cute as can be.

Most worthless, aggressive, annoying sumbitchin "dog" ever... and the yappy little fucker is too quick to step on.

I keep hoping an eagle will get it.

That stupid yappy thing she owns has bitten almost everyone who comes into her house. But isn't he adorable? No not really. But the two smiling pit bulls my son had that never touched anyone, were vicious.

Don't move toward the lady of the house. Speak softly and don't laugh.

You got bit? I told you not to sneeze! Besides, mr cutestuff has tiny little itty bitty teeth! Isn't he cute?

My male Yorkie is a super size 16 pounds of pure muscle.

He is a sweetheart!

My other male is I think, a Morkie.

I rescued him from the mean street.

He is just the sweetest boy ever!
