Confusing Asians with each other? But I'm not allowed to ask them their nationality, so how do I know in order to not confuse? I've given up on the race discussion. If you want to follow all the rules it's just one double bind after another.

Do you really care if the person you are speaking to is of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, or any other Asian nationality? Are you that concerned if a white person is of Polish, Italian, Irish, German, English, or any other European nationality?

Human beings are human beings. Just deal with others on that level and you should be all right.
