Biden: "Is That Not Infrastructure"?

Last edited Wed Apr 7, 2021, 03:25 PM - Edit history (1)

President Biden: "How many of you know when you send your child to school the fountain they're drinking out of is not fed by lead pipe? How many of you know the school your child is in still has asbestos in the walls? Is that not infrastructure?

Biden argues trains and highways once weren't seen as infrastructure, but the definition has always changed to meet the moment: "The idea of infrastructure has always evolved to meet the aspirations of the American people and their needs. And it is evolving again today."

President Biden on his infrastructure proposal: "We will not be open to doing nothing. Inaction is simply not an option."

The older I get, the worse my spelling becomes.

It's almost kind of funny as when the little grandchildren are over and my wife doesn't want them to understand what she is trying to tell me, she spells it out. I end up being as clueless as the grandkids and have to write down what she spells so I can figure it out.

typos or unwarranted autocorrects. Spell check does not catch them all because sometimes a typo is a legitimate word, just not the right word in the context.

So I try to do my own proofing instead of using spell check. Of course, I still miss some typos.

You and your wife could be the Windtalkers of your family. Your grandchildren would talk about this for the rest of their lives. In English, presumably.

leave it prepared to accept the nation's coming conversion to more and more reliance on green energy—outlets for charging stations, capped but ready to be bought online in the future for electric vehicles. Also the same for energy storage units.

It's belated but it's time to prepare the grid for a future without as much reliance on fossil fuels.

But they don't mind a few people freezing to death, or being bankrupted by utility bills that beggar belief.

of once being a separate nation, and thus its separate power grid, one would hope they've gotten over that after what happen when a harsher than normal winter storm highlighted their negligence in failing to maintain their separate grid after repeated warnings over decades.

I don't think they were trying to literally kill people, but that negligence was largely criminal negligence.

Bring something to the table besides "No." Biden isn't going to do nothing if you don't go along. You want a hand in crafting the legislation? Bring your own suggestions, programs, and policies, and let's hash them out. But "just say no" isn't going to cut it.

That's a good one to drive home because the GOP response to everything is going to be inaction. Get ahead of the issue & make it clear what they're going to do (nothing) is not an option *before* they do it.

I love that it must burn him inside that his party didn't let him, watching how popular it is under Biden.

Donald Trump Proposes to Double Hillary Clinton’s Spending on Infrastructure

Donald J. Trump took a step to Hillary Clinton’s left on Tuesday, saying that he would like to spend at least twice as much as his Democratic opponent has proposed to invest in new infrastructure as part of his plan to stimulate the United States’ economy.

The idea takes a page out of the progressive playbook and is another indication that the Republican presidential nominee is prepared to break with the fiscal conservatism that his party has evangelized over the past eight years.

Such is not my understanding.

I will allow the infrastructure bill contains things that the GQP argue do not come within the named concept of "infrastructure" but that is just the current argument by the Repugnants that anything President Biden proposes must be the Devil's work.
