Reuse one of those temporary ID's we wear around our necks or clip to a pocket or buy the plastic sleeves at a place like Staples. Trim it to fit in your wallet or purse. That will keep it in good shape. You won't be able to update it if needed when it's laminated.

(8,521 posts)They're keeping the records. I've had about five of those yellow travel ones, they just write out the info on a new card if it gets lost or stolen.

(8,521 posts)The nurses where I got mine are running into tons of people who tossed their cards after their first shot, and thus needed to get fresh ones after their second shot. So it's definitely doable, I'd get in contact with the vax place. Did you post about your card getting laundered a few days ago? Can't remember

(15,159 posts)The vaccination site couldn't find his records online even though our state's health department they should have it. He got the second vaccine and a replacement card but he was given a hard time about it. It's like they didn't believe him or something. I was in the doghouse that day.

(24,633 posts)They're not special paper like currency or passports.
When I got my second shot, there were stacks of blank cards just sitting around on nurses' tables, next to piles of band-aids and alcohol wipes.

(63,974 posts)printed out a scaled down copy of it. Think I'll laminate that one. Original in my wallet is getting a little worn.

(8,836 posts)You can also shrink the copy a bit so it fits nicely in a wallet.
That way the original can be used if additional vaccinations for Covid are needed sometime in the future.

(15,613 posts)If someone laminates it, and needs to update it for a booster or whatever, they can just copy the information onto a new card and update that.

(15,613 posts)There's nothing magical about the original card that you have to keep that particular piece of paper forever.
