In truth, their 1950s never existed.They never looked ahead and spend the money to prepare for the new America that starting to form back in the 80s.
Now we spent a lot of money. Luckily it will make jobs.

What would you call the Eisenhower Interstate Highway system. Believe it was started in the 1950s. We still use them, as a matter of fact, if they didn't exist, the "new America" would probably exist. IMO

are the responsibility of the individual states to maintain. Road and bridge deterioration can be found in all states.
