(58,785 posts)be addressed before announcing the results IF they might affect the outcome. If that was correct, it suggests the vote might be fairly close. Conjecture, though.

(6,805 posts)Before the election certain employees are deemed exempt or non-exempt. I forget which, but one of those groups are employees who would be covered by a union if it goes through, and the other groups wouldn't, like certain management and supervison. I think disputed votes come from whether some voters should or should not be in the exempt/non-exempt groups.
That was my personal experience with it long ago. Don't bet the rent money on what I have said here.
