When I was younger, Manchin would be called a Republican.

(28,891 posts)9. It's "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" of insults for Democrats.
When Biden, Obama, Hillary Clinton, Harris -- most Democrats -- are called "centrists" ... it doesn't mean anything.
I just read an article about centrists. The American Conservative Union gave Susan Collins a 44% rating of voting with Republicans on policies important for them. That would be a centrist. Manchin came in at 27.7%. High. The thing is, Democrats who've been called centrists don't come anywhere close.
Joe Biden 12.7% (0% in his last year as senator)
Tim Ryan 11.48%
Barack Obama 10%
Hillary Clinton 8.1%
Bernie Sanders 6.8%
Amy Klobuchar 4.7%
Kamala Harris 4.6%
Elizabeth Warren 4.2%
Cory Booker 5.1%
Tim Kaine 1%
