If Democrats don't kill the filibuster the Republicans certainly will.

Republicans now see American Democracy as a threat they want to eliminate.
The draconian voting laws states are passing and fighting to preserve demonstrate this.

Once they hold the Senate again they will certainly present bills to protect Republican dominance.
If the filibuster remains THEY will kill it so they can pass their laws with a simple majority.

The only way to protect against this is to pass laws right now, before the next election, to prevent this kind of abuse.

The filibuster will go down one way or the other either in service of protecting democracy or eliminating it.
If Democrats don't kill the filibuster now to protect our democracy the Republicans will soon kill it to establish a permanent majority.

And they had no agenda in 2017 besides the tax scam. Now their agenda is clear: eliminate majority rule for all aspects of government to include voting rights for most Americans. If we cannot pass a new voting rights act now, they will certainly make sure that won't be possible ever again by not just undermining democracy, but eliminating it.

Trump says the election was stolen from Republicans so now they are convinced they have to steal it back.

Cut taxes and put extremist judges on the courts.

They really don't give a shit about much else.

We are witnessing the death knells of the filibuster, and both Democrats and Republicans know it. One way or the other, that anachronistic rule is not going to be around for much longer. If Democrats do away with it now, it benefits Democrats. If Republicans do away with it later when they are in the majority, it benefits Republicans. And Republicans know that. I wish Joe Manchin knew it.

If their voter suppression tactics work, and they take the House and Senate, All President Biden will be able to do is veto fascist legislation before Democrat's inability to get anything done causes us to lose the White House in 2024.

Once they have both Chambers and the Presidency, they will end the filibuster, end democracy, and establish a minority christo-fascist authoritarian dictatorship that cannot be changed through democratic processes.

Wish I knew how to contact the fucker directly. I would beg him on my knees. Anyone know him personally or have access to reaching him directly to make this point and show up as a desperately begging citizen seeking common sense? I doubt it and I guess our great Prez can talk to him, but damn, damn, damn, this is so maddeningly frustrating.

There has got to be a way around this fucker. BTW, a short while back wasn't he saying he is open to reforming the filifucker? I truly think our last chance to make the reforms needed to protect our democracy hinge on this fucker. Sorry for so much use of the F word. As mentioned, I am so frustrated. This is so wrong in so many ways. The people elected democrats to enact widely supported policies. How can he do this?!?

Maybe citizens should just get on their knees and cry and beg in front of his house to show how very desperate we are to save our democracy. One asshole should not have this much power! Do you think Mitch or some other sick, greedy and misguided republican has something on him?
