(81,461 posts)Shirley Chisholm brought the first tools and enlarged the workspace. Hillary Clinton built the ladder in that workspace with those tools. And Kamala Harris climbed climbed that ladder. All the way up to the last step before the top.
THAT particular last achievement - that top step - still awaits. But women are closer to it now than ever before in our history. Or rather, her story.
I look forward to talking history with my wee granddaughters when they get older! Who knows? That ladder and its top step await THEM now, too!

(66,462 posts)But it's good work. Unobtrusive.
Not like the catastrophic engineering disaster that was everything about Dump's look; the cuckoo-bird's nest hair, the fake tan spackled on to his ugly mug, the lifts in his shoes that gave him the leaning-forward stance that screams 'just porked in the ass'.
We've got a very attractive executive team now.
The fact that they are both blisteringly competent is another layer of wonderful.

(1,945 posts)In the past 4 years, when I was able to go into the VA med center with my husband for his appointments, it used to make me instantly irate to see the grinning idiot's portrait on the entrance wall. Argh!! Now I will look forward to seeing President Biden's happy face instead. A relief in numerous ways.

(11,564 posts)It's sometimes hard to determine whether some images are hyperrealistic paintings, or digital photographs. There is a tiny bit of the otherworldly in digital shots. Those are amazing!

(129,440 posts)I know as a retired fed, many will be glad to see those put up around their federal buildings (at least those who have to or choose to still go into their buildings/offices, as many are still working from home, if eligible, due to the pandemic).

(10,839 posts)That's what I see in both photos. Biden and Harris give off approachable vibes and you can feel that in their expressions and posture.
Nice! Beats a scowl and orange skin every time!

(21,110 posts)however, it disgusts me that it is "required" that our politicians wear flag pins. Makes me want to throw up that this country is at a point where you have to wear your patriotism on your lapel or you are NOT a patriot.
