George Takei for the win!

?s=21

George Takei
@GeorgeTakei
The GOP has no plan to stop gun violence.

They have no plan to address climate change.

They have no plan to improve healthcare.

They never had an infrastructure week.

What the hell do they stand for? What do they even do? Vote them out. Every last one.

But the last five years have irrefutably shown that when American politicians use the word conservative these days, what they really mean is white supremacist.

White supremacy has become the central brand of today’s Republican Party, and, in retrospect, has been at the core of that Party’s explicit efforts ever since Richard Nixon’s 1968 Southern Strategy.

Nothing ever happened in Congress, and unbiased review of its features I could find was from a site (advisory.com) that seems to provide services to healthcare organizations. Here is their description, and it is basically a return to almost exactly what we had before the ACA with no real provision for those who are not covered by employer plans. So, as usual, the Republican plan would take healthcare away from millions of people.

“Proposal details

The proposal would undo a majority of the ACA's coverage regulations, according to The Hill. For example, the proposal would not require health plans to cover the ACA's "essential health benefits." Instead, the proposal would allow states to choose which essential health benefits health plans must cover. The proposal also would:

Eliminate the ACA's ban on annual and lifetime limits on covered benefits;
Eliminate the ACA's rules requiring insurers to cover certain preventive care services at no cost to patients;
Eliminate the ACA's Medicaid expansions and reallocate funds from the expansions to establish a federal and state block-grant system for Medicaid funding;
Eliminate the ACA's requirements regarding age-banding, community rating, dependent coverage, medical loss ratios, and single-risk pools; and
Increase the ACA's cap on health savings accounts (HSAs) to $9,000 for individuals and $18,000 for families, allow individuals to use HSAs to cover individual health plan premiums, remove requirements that HSAs be linked to high-deductible health plans, and prohibit the use of HSAs to subsidize the cost of abortion care.”

for the health insurance companies.

No logical person would ever back them. That is why they have to depend on the ugly emotions of anger and fear to get voters.

I'd let them have a couple of Reps in districts that are a lost cause anyway. Just to rub it in a little. Maybe give them tall stools and big pointy caps for when they're in session.

then...that is bull, it has always been rhetoric, lies, making people think they are strong in defense, that they are good for the economy, they they are good for the country...IT HAS NEVER been that way with republicans.

The only republican who was good acted more like a Democrat, was a progressive and he hated many of the republicans in his time, he had to fight them all the time because of their dishonesty, their corruption and their hunger for power. They even cheated on him to nominate Taft for the 2nd time, knowing that Taft would not win the presidency which he lost to Wilson. That was Theodore Roosevelt, and that is why he started a new progressive party.

Why he wanted to reunite the republican party by the end of his life? I have no idea, he never belong to them, he was too honest and cared too much for his country to be a real republican.

Boiled down, it's this:

1) Wealth for the wealthy;
2) Power for the powerful;
3) Comfort for the comfortable;
4) Poverty for the poor;
5) Affliction for the afflicted.

Being white is central to it, of course.
