Obstructing a highway/passageway would be a felony under the proposal.

MEMPHIS, Tenn — Activists say a proposed Tennessee law is attempting to crack down on protesters.

The bill would increase the penalty for obstructing a highway and grant immunity to drivers who unintentionally kill or hurt someone who is blocking a road.

Punishment would also include a mandatory $3,000 fine. The bill goes before the Senate Judiciary Committee next week.

More at link.

I'm sure the intention is to apply this selectively.

I would put stiff fines or prison for blocking traffic. I would not allow someone to run over someone blocking traffic, though.

It's hard for me to feel bad for either the driver or the protester blocking traffic.

Staying in the 'designated protest zone' doesnt do much to get the powers that be to pay attention to you.

Mow right over thems libs, progressives, and pinko commie socialist tree huggers.

Don't forget your auto is a state sanctioned killing machine. If you have an NRA sticker you can kill twice as many.

In the streets are thousands of years old. This is a pointless endeavor based solely on intimidation. Though I hate it for an ambulance or fire truck delayed, hopefully they can be rerouted. As for cleatus trying to get to the golf range, suck it up

Will engender yet another method. But with each censorship pressure will build up...

Tennessee politicians do this at their peril.

"grant immunity to drivers who unintentionally kill or hurt someone who is blocking a road."

It was an accident. I didn't mean to kill that ______ person.

What could possibly go wrong?
