some of us just spent a minute thinking about those poor souls it would help them and their loved ones....somehow. And get us to redouble our masking and vaccination and hand washing.

I will just add though, being alone in a critical health situation like Covid is about as awful as it gets.

It was literally willpower (forcing myself up and vertical), dexamethasone and remdesivir that saved me. I literally got to the end of my oxygen tether and came back before I was placed on ventilator.

Any comfort that can be given these patients is above and beyond.

was actually a canadian conservative politician who complained that she could not go across the US border to visit her sick mother-in-law because of the threat of public shaming. Meanwhile the families of covid patients everywhere across the countries put the health of the country first and did not visit their loved ones. Heroes all around this covid pandemic. The Conservative politician is not one of them. I'm sure your family has told you just how heroic you are.

Can't imagine the pain of losing a loved one under these circumstances. No chance to talk and exchange feelings and stories. These people deserve our communal love. I hope the vibes reach them.

if i wasn't able to be with her, holding her hand, when she died
i can't imagine my daughter not being allowed to be with me when i die

i think this is so completely heartbreaking--
