I did hear someone defend Roy Moore's past behavior with, "girls marry young down here". I know one thing. I'm in Idaho and back in the 70's, a creep in his thirties hitting on the girls would have gotten the shit beat out of him by the high school boys or some dads. No doubt about it.

In the 80s. It was creepy for a college age man to hit on a high school girl, let alone someone in thirties.

But a big part of me doesn't give a shit. They other part believes that we need to make a better example than they do.

Oddly, I remember when Mitt Romney voted yes to impeach Trump (was it only #1 or both?).

Back in the 1st decade of the new millennium, a blogger called 'The Armchair Subversive' had a webpage compiling the quite numerous sex crimes committed by repugs up till then. If ever a project needed to be put front and center in the American psyche, it's drawing attention to the pattern - now spanning decades - of sex crimes committed by so-called 'family values' conservatives. The Meidas Touch has the right idea here, but there's so much material with which to work. Give the people more!

Don't forget, some abuse is learned, generational behavior. If victims believe that the abuse is normal and happens to everyone, they will do the same thing to the next generation. so, unfortunately, voters who live with abuse, who haven't realized it is abuse, think the perverted behavior is normal and thus okay.

But people who are elected to public office, and people who gain positions of power have ample opportunity to be enlightened about abuse and have absolutely no excuse to perpetuate abuse ever. Except it satisfies their lust for power.

All of us who understand that abuse isn't normal just have to keep saying it isn't normal or acceptable. We never know if our words are going to open a window or a door.
