I definitely feel achy and fatigued. My arm hurts to the point that I don't want to lift it too far, or pick up anything too heavy. I've coughed a few times and feel something going on with my lungs/chest. Not sure what that is.
My eyes are still blue though. I haven't yet started growing a 2nd set of arms. I do worry about the MS spy drones though. The good news is that it's storming outside and conditions aren't favorable for flying spy drones.

(25,178 posts)The shot was at 10 am yesterday (Friday). I felt energetic afterward, which I think was due to relief at finally having both shots. I picked up a few items from a store before going home.
Started drinking lots of water, per advice at the vaccine site. They also said to relax, but I felt energized, so I did a LOT of cooking to have food ready for when I was too sick to feel like cooking.
Slept only an extra hour more than usual.
This morning I woke up feeling a little "off" like in the very early stages of flu. Slight achiness in the back muscles. A little queasiness. Achy behind the eyes so I checked my temp. It was up a few tenths of a degree over my usual 97.7, but not high enough to even call it a fever.
No appetite until after I'd been up for a few hours. Ate a few meatballs in pasta sauce, with melted mozzarella cheese on top. The queasiness stopped.
Right now I have a very slight soreness at the back of my throat that I associate with the beginning of a cold or flu.
If I'm lucky, it won't get worse than this. If I'm not lucky, I might feel sicker as the day progresses, or when I get up tomorrow.

(25,178 posts)I might not be developing antibodies. I know that's not true, but is is reassurring to be able to feel the process at work.

(71,036 posts)shot before the shot...and almost cancelled as I was sick to my stomach...maybe a bug or something I ate. The only thing that happened to me after the shot was I woke up at 4:00 AM dizzy and nauseous. I also had a headache and was very thirsty...may have had a small fever, but I had been a bit sick the day before ...when I didn't have the shot so who knows? I went back to sleep and woke up at 10:00 feeling fine...no muscle soreness or anything. I had Covid and may have already had antibodies. And earlier blood test did show this. Hope you feel better.

(46,862 posts)Second shot is definitely worse in terms of side effects. I still have a sore arm (worse than after first dose), but now I am feeling like I have beginnings of a cold on top of it.
My temperature is slightly higher than my normal also.

(33,354 posts)It's pretty high in a lot of places this Spring. Although, since you got the Dolly shot, you might be growing some Dolly-size boobs. No not really. I went through this a week ago. You'll be feeling better tomorrow. Maybe not 100%, but pretty close to it. Take it easy for another day or two, anyway. It's okay to take something for your arm if it gets too unbearable.

(12,344 posts)I am diabetic and my blood glucose levels got quite high. The fatigue left after one day, but for 5 days it was like I was very insulin resistant. I increased dosages and reduced carbs but BG stayed quite high. the only thing that worked was exercise. Back to normal now. I did report this to the CDC.

I am very glad to have been vaccinated. If I reacted in this minor way to the vaccine I can't imagine I would live through a real infection.

(226,539 posts)Though I was unbearably hot when I first woke up and I felt awfully woozy. I also felt nauseous and don't think I was up to eating the next day. After the first shot all I had was a slightly sore arm. But I sure am grateful to have gotten it, it'll be 2 weeks this Sunday, I had a late appointment, 6:30. That said, I plan to change nothing, couldn't if I wanted to. Here in New York it's mandated to wear a mask and keep a safe distance everywhere and I'm grateful for that, too.
TexLaProgressive
(12,344 posts)Lifted the mask mandate but I am proud to say most are still masking and socially distancing. Perhaps it is habitual now.
Rhiannon12866
(226,539 posts)Anywhere I've gone people are wearing masks, even young kids. There are signs on the doors of every business that masks are required to enter and people have gotten used to it over the past year. It would actually seem weird and uncomfortable to go anywhere without a mask now. And you'd certainly get stopped. A couple of weeks ago I was waiting in line inside a gas station (the floors are marked to let you know where to stand if you're waiting) and an older man without his mask came just inside to look at the newspaper rack and immediately one of the guys behind the counter shouted that the guy needed to put on his mask.

(72,126 posts)mostly it hurt worse cuz i iced it the 1st time, but on this time.
took some ibuprofen about an hour after, but it is a pain to not move/lift/sleep on that arm.
have been taking it for other reasons the last week or so. so, both the pain and the swelling survived about 10 doses.
just a little tender today tho.

(29,389 posts)the most unfortunate luck of coming down with coronavirus right after getting their vaccination. Pure coincidence, of course. The vaccine does not really start to take hold in your immune system as far as providing any defense for 5-10+ days depending on your age and other factors - so of course there are a percentage of people who contract CV19 in the period immediately after their first shot.
As a nurse working with CV19 patients and employees, the coughing and lungs/chest irritation concern me. I would recommend testing. It's probably nothing but you should find out, I think. Sorry.

(38,507 posts)Now 24 hours after my 2nd Pfizer shot, (I had zip reaction to the first one) the 2nd zapped me. I slept most of the day after getting home around noon yesterday. I'd has a good night's sleep the night before, so it wasn't like I was deficient on sleep.
Other than that, nothing but a sore arm for which I took acetaminophen and now feel fine.
I put "vaccine effective date" on my calendar for the 23 of April.
Having gotten this shot is a real upper!

(22,569 posts)Odds are, your achy fatigue will be gone by then, though the soreness in the arm will linger a couple more days.
That was my experience with my Pfizer shots last month.

(84,974 posts)Got the shot two Saturdays before Easter weekend.
Husband and I experienced the same aftermath. Injection went in more slowly than I expected. There was some discomfort, compared to other shots weve had that take one second, at most.
Drove home after we were released. Felt nothing unusual. But when we got home, we both stretched out to watch the news and wound up taking a nap.
No pain at the site of the injection. Only time there was some mild discomfort there was when I deliberately pressed on it. That lasted a few days. By about the fourth day, that no longer happened.
And since then, neither of us have exhibited or felt ill, or uncomfortable, or feverish, or anything else!
Our two-week wait-period ended on Holy Saturday when we drove out to spend Easter Sunday with our daughter and son-in-law and kids and his parents. Met and got to hold our new granddaughter for the first time! Shes two-months-old!
First time we hugged anybody in more than a year!

(84,974 posts)Quite a contrast, though, with the birth of her older sister. This new first-time Grandma drove out to meet her while her Mom was still in the hospital. Got to meet and hold her when she was only a few hours old. The new one? Had to wait two-and-a-half months.

wnylib
(25,178 posts)or I'm in bright light. Seriously, they are brown-green hazel. Green around the pupils, surrounded by brown. My pupils are larger than average, so the pupils and brown crowd out the green. My eyes usually look brown. But when the pupils contract from bright light or a fever, the green is very visible.
I have always wished that they were more green.

(11,686 posts)A little bit of changing color. They sound like my car that is a brown type of color but shifts to a shade of green depending on the light. My car does some purple in certain light also.
Isn't that great? Your eyes being compared to a car.

(25,178 posts)When asked for my eye color on ID forms, like my license, I just say brown because that's what they look like most of the time. Very few people ever realize that they are really hazel. One time I was outdoors with a friend that I'd known for some time when she said, "OMG! Your eyes are green! Did you get tinted contacts?"

(658 posts)I went out and played 9 holes after the storms in NW FL today. I re-wired a circuit in my house before-hand, and have started a nice tomato sauce since. I feel like sheit. Did I say that?
I'll take it though. Not sure if I'm running a fever, but I'm very achy all over.... especially my back, arms, legs, stomach, feet, fingers, head, thighs, toes, etc... I'm not in the hospital hooked to a ventilator. Again I say... I'll take it.

(658 posts)I played 9 holes of golf yesterday and felt horrible. Came home and cooked a nice tomato sauce, but just wasn't hungry. Went to bed at about 9pm without dinner.
Woke up this morning and feel much better. Much, much better in fact. Still not really hungry though. The chest/lung thing is gone too. Must have had something to do with the shot I'm guessing.
Anyway, I'm one of over 110,000,000 people in America who have gotten their vaccine. I'm alive and well, and I definitely haven't had any weird side-affects.
