He's a repuke, but he did serve his country and lost that eye, so I wouldn't wish this latest challenge on him.

I have vitreous detachment in one eye, and I remember how alarmed I was when it first happened. It was annoying in the beginning, but now I hardly notice it. I'm thankful that I didn't have a detached retina (yet).

Until I had LASIK in my 60s I was legally blind without glasses or hard contacts. I was at risk for retinal detachment before that surgery — and will always remain so.

I am very sorry for this fellow human being’s troubles, especially as it is a war injury. I hope he is able to make a full recovery.
