"SNIP......

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was planning on retiring from public life until former President Trump won the 2016 election, according to USA Today.

“After three decades as a congresswoman from California, nearly half of that time as the leader of the House Democrats, Pelosi said she was getting ready to take a breath, dote on her nine grandchildren, perhaps write her memoirs,” Susan Page of USA Today writes in her upcoming book “Madam Speaker: Nancy Pelosi and the Lessons of Power.”

The book consists of 10 interviews with Pelosi and 150 interviews from political friends and foes and family members close to her.

The book details Pelosi’s confidence that former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 election.

There are a lot of good people in the House, but a replacement for her doesn't jump out at me.

Instead, what she endured was villification from the Right, the Fringe, & yet she STILL stood for her Oath, her Party, her Constitution.
She held the line in her House when the political villifyiers came beating on her Office door, cameras rolling, demands in hand & posturing for political position via the Media, rather than via the process of the House.

Ya. I'm sure Speaker Pelosi would have loved to be home enjoying her well earned retirement.

I believe there were others of our more Senior Dems who were looking at the same lifepath as Pelosi, had our actuall popular vote winner, Sec Hillary Clinton been seated by a fair & functioning electoral college.

Oh ya, Putin's pal Jill Stein & her revoluuushun of absolutely nothing.
**********

Oh well, perhaps Speaker Pelosi will be in a more secure position to hand over her gavel to someone she trusts, as the Biden Admin moves thru it's focus of also securing the WH, the Gov't functions, the border, the vaccinations, the sabre rattling abroad, racial distress, women & families, gun violence & the economy & infrastructure & prepare the US for the future.

Perhaps she will have those days yet, to just be a content retiree, knowing she's left her House in order & in strong safe hands.

Love this remarkable strong & graceful woman & all she has given in the name of her country & our Democracy.

She was the best person for the job - extremely knowledgeable and unafraid.
She destroyed him from their first meeting. She literally destroyed him in public

Enjoy!
