Minimal aftereffects. Two weeks from yesterday, we will go to a restaurant for the first time in a year. Yay!

(8,445 posts)My son got his second Pfizer shot on Friday and did NOT feel better until last night. It's funny how it affects people differently.

(8,445 posts)He scoffed at his brother, my youngest son, about the possible side effects. My youngest son got J&J on Wednesday. On Thursday I texted him, asking how he was. His response was one word: "DEATH"
My youngest son told his brother that they share almost the exact same DNA, so his side effects would likely be the same. He was right.
But everyone is fine now. Three more in the family are scheduled to get their vaccine this week. Hopefully it'll all go well.

(5,007 posts)I mean even his arm was not sore. It was like nothing happened. I will be interested to see how he does with Moderna #2. He does not return until the 24th.
My 20 yr old had mild nausea with Moderna #1. He felt very tired with #2.
My 27 yr old has had Pfizer #1 (and will get #2 on Wednesday) and only had arm pain.
It is interesting to see how siblings respond to the vaccine.

(21,596 posts)I didnt have anything other than the normal sore arm after the first vaccination.
I would have felt much better sooner if Id taken two Tylenol immediately afterwards, like the nurse recommended. I went to bed early and mostly slept until late Saturday afternoon. I felt really heavy and tired and had a headache - generally exhausted.
I drank lots of water, took Tylenol on Friday evening & Saturday morning, and drank black coffee. I feel great today! 😀

(8,445 posts)It was pretty much the same for me. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks after my second shot.

(21,596 posts)Ive never before looked forward to a vaccination with such happiness!
Now, Im waiting for my 12 year old with asthma to be able to get the Pfizer vaccinations that are in the last stages of testing in 6 month to 15 year old kids. Im hoping, by August, the vaccine will be approved so they can go back to school in person for the first time since March 2020. Their allergy & asthma doctor will be getting supplies of the vaccine from the local hospital that they are affiliated with.

(8,445 posts)This has been such an odd time, and I really worry about how it has affected children.

(1,379 posts)I had very little, if any, side effects.
I had a lingering headache, and just felt kind of blah for 3 days, but I think that was more allergies than anything. When I took a Tylenol Sinus I felt pretty good.

(4,006 posts)...I was laid low by #2. Weakness in the lower limbs, hard to walk, ended up shuffling, mild headache. Slept 3 times in the daytime and about 27 hours after the shot, I did feel better. Today, Sunday a.m. I feel great again.

(8,445 posts)I noticed my side effects about 16 hours after my shot, but I was sleeping for five hours before I woke up and realized I felt bad.

(2,220 posts)I had my second Pfizer two weeks ago. It kicked my butt for exactly 24 hours. I had muscle and joint pain, headache, increased heart rate, diarrhea, fatigue, and fever. I still am amazed at how it went away like someone flipped a switch.
My freedom date was Friday. Hubster took me to lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, the last one we ate at before lockdown. We ate on the patio, and it was delightful. Last night, we got together with five friends for pizza, cake, and massive amounts of Prosecco to celebrate being able to sit around a table and see each others faces, to see smiles, to hug. We have seen these folks in masked and carefully distanced situations over the past year, but last night was a celebration. Today, I am mildly hung over, but happy and hopeful.

(67,782 posts)...to celebrate. I'm anxious to see what restaurants are like inside these days. We have a couple of favorites that we haven't been to since last year.
Last March I was set to go to my favorite "happy hour" place one afternoon, something I'd been doing every week for a couple of years.
But, while getting ready I decided to wait until the next day. A couple of hours later Governor Lamont announced all bars and restaurants would be closed at 5PM that afternoon.
Waiting for that 13 month late "happy hour"!!

(2,747 posts)I want to thank you for your posts about settling your parents' estate. They reminded me to remind my family about my information. It's organized, and nothing is "wrong" but life happens and I wanted someone to know where to find my will, insurance info, bank info, and all that other stuff.
So thank you for sharing your experience and recommendations.
I first got started on this when a neighbor's house burned down and he died from smoke inhalation. He had no will, no one knew anything about his finances, etc. What a mess! And the family disagreed. I decided then to get a will written. My attorney told me to get a small, fire proof safe. In the safe he suggested I put the will, insurance info, banking info, and anything else someone would need immediate access to in case I wasn't able to function - or was dead. He said to leave the safe unlocked. So I did.

(73 posts)I"m extremely grateful to have gotten both shots, but I"m still having stomach issues a week and a half after the 2nd Moderna. 24 hrs after the second shot, I had extreme nausea and vomiting for about 4 hrs and my stomach has been touchy ever since. I hope it goes away soon.
