(16,377 posts)My experience was the opposite. I never cried and it actually seemed to energize me. I'm much happier now, unattached.

(14,853 posts)I divorced years ago. Our relationship was so similar to the one shown in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", which was released after the divorce, it's incredible to me. Even the parts with the impulsive female character regularly changing her hair color was reminiscent, given that my ex-wife was a beautician.
Well, my ex-wife started doing cocaine without me realizing it until after the divorce... so that part was very different from the movie.
I never remarried, and single life is fine with me. If it ever happens again, it certainly won't be from me actively seeking it out.
