from 2008:
McCain is traveling with the U.N.'s World Food Programme, whose work she monitored in Southeast Asia and Africa this spring and summer. McCain plans to meet with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and to visit wounded Georgian soldiers. She would also visit representatives of the HALO Trust, which works to remove land mines and on whose board she serves

(53,061 posts)After vacationing in poor countries she founded a not for profit that mounted medical missions to hard hit areas in the third world using doctors who wanted to donate vacation time.
While in Bangladesh she went to an orphanage run by Mother Teresa where she found 2 emaciated girls unlikely to survive. She adopted one on the spot (Bridget) and arranged to have a family friend adopt the other.
She is a good person.

(21,765 posts)American medicine being a for profit business. But thanks. It's good to know that some genuinely care.

(46,130 posts)Where I worked, doctors were on salary, so they didn't make a profit, per se. They just earned their very nice salary.
Of course, their vacation time is certainly worth something.

(32,100 posts)I remember the photo of her posing with her daughter. My opinion of both of them went up at that point, although my view of Meghan has plummeted at this point.
Good choice here, Joe!

She wants to keep licking the feet of the party that now is made up exclusively of Trump cult members. The guy that shat all over her dad. She's made her choice.

I finally figured out that Meghan had a missing Daddy problem growing up. He was busy in the senate and Meghan didnt get the attention she craved. Now she is married to a guy who obviously dominates her thinking. Ive seen the change shes more belligerent and rude than when her a dad was alive. I gave up watching the view last month because it raised my blood pressure when she came on. Until shes gone no more View. She has really become an even more awful person because her husband directs her whens shes on the view. Even my husband noticed shes taking cues from her husband off camera.
That said congrats Cindy McCain.
