I know its a popular thing here in Washington to claim that elections have consequences but on your first day back in power, the Democratic Party got together and marched right across the line that separates consequences and punishment. Punishment, thats what theyre all about

(114,616 posts)but until and unless that happens, Marsha, you'd do a lot better to keep your trap shut after the way Democrats have been treated over the last couple of decades.

(17,822 posts)in the Senate, but there's Blackburn and, my wonderful Senator, Cindy Hyde-Smith. We have other stupid ones, of course, but I'll take one of the idiots any day over malevolent beings like Cruz or Hawley.

(76,706 posts)He's Nuts!
He's already lost 45% of revenues to his pissant company, and he really believes his lie about being worth $300 million.
That one is completely detached from reality.

(17,822 posts)He's already being sued for a lot, enough to ruin their retirement. I'm sure his lawyer has told him to shut up, too. I hope they do ruin his retirement. He doesn't deserve to get that big Senator's retirement check after being such an odious, treasonous, slanderous boob. Dominion should get a fat check from him every month for the rest of his life.

(2,636 posts)They act like it's totally ok to break laws if you are a republican.
Semantic point: "I know it's popular to say 'elections have consequences, but..." The use of 'but' here negates the entire preceding clause.
I really like my new boss, but...(he's a dick)
We'd like to give you a raise, but (we're not going to)

Except they punish women who dare to demand self autonomy.
They punish Black people for voting against them by making it harder to vote.
They punish immigrants who come here for the American Dream of a better life for their children in response to jobs offered by American employers with fines, family separations, cages, all for the misdemeanor of crossing an imaginary political line.
They think it's OK to execute Black men for selling loose cigarettes, buying cigarettes, driving new cars, having expired tags, drinking Ice tea with skittles.
Marsha Blackburn can shut the fuck all the way right up.
A failed coup. Let's not forget. A failed coup, with five dead.
In history books, it would be called the Electoral College Massacre.
THey call protests riots and insurrections peaceful assembly.
She is a liar, and a seditionist if she thinks holding the former guy and the senators and representatives who ginned up insurrection accountable crosses a line. No, the GOP crossed a line by attacking democracy and the Constitution itself.
1984 was a warning, not a how to.
