On April 3, I ordered three items from Amazon. They were shipped immediately, then languished in a post office in Erlanger, KY (63 miles away). I kept receiving the "on the way, but it's running late" message from Amazon. The tracking number didn't exist on the USPS website. On April 9, Amazon determined that the package was "undeliverable" and refunded my payment.
I immediately re-ordered two of the three items (the third was out of stock, thanks, apparently, to my ordering the last one). They were, again, immediately shipped. Throughout the day today, I was informed that I would receive the package by 10 PM tonight. I just checked, and it's now languishing in a post office in Maumee, OH (142 miles away), scheduled for delivery on Thursday. This time, no "on the way" message, but, consistent with the last attempt, the tracking number is a phantom at USPS.
This is barking mad. How many times should I order these items before I get off my ass and go to the store?

(9,971 posts)I ordered something form chewy.com awhile back. I ordered it on a Saturday and received a notice that it had been shipped. I then received a notice that it should be delivered via FedEx on Tuesday. When it hadn't arrived on Wednesday I went looking for the tracking number and lo and behold, there was no tracking number for FedEx, so I called Chewy. They were very nice and went looking for the package themselves, only to discover that apparently FedEx had not picked it up from their warehouse, despite having been notified. They did put in an order for me and refunded my money for the first one, although they said if it ever did show up it was a freebie on them. I then called FedEx to try to find out why they hadn't picked up the package. Do you have any idea how hard it is to reach a human at FedEx???? When I finally did, she was REALLY snotty and nasty and refused to give me any information without some kind of arcane number which I would have no way of knowing. I finally told her their customer service was not service and I would never ship anything with them EVER and hung up. That package has never showed up. The Chewy folks are really nice though.

(7,143 posts)They just don't exist within the USPS.
I ship a lot, and check my shipments daily. Thankfully, this hasn't been a problem, but I'd be livid if it started happening to me.

(57,073 posts)Rep offered me option to prevent new orders from shipping USPS!
Much as I love the postal service, I took this option as I need the item I order.
One item was ordered 3/29! STILL DO NOT HAVE ITEM! Amazon has resent twice.
Please be aware it takes 7 days for shipping carrier block to take effect.
Same here USPS tracking not working.
Entire board of governors & dejoy need to be indicted for this!
On edit: average Amazon rep does not know about optiob to bpock specific shipping choice. Insist, if you want to exercise this option.
Please also remember if you have too many lost/undelivered/ defective complaints to Amazn, they will drop you as a customer!

(7,143 posts)So... if the USPS keeps fucking up, Amazon drops me as a customer?
I love this country!

(57,073 posts)Insist Amazon rep check into this option. Again, many are not aware of this!
Yes, isn't it great that corporate personhood is always more important than people?
Apologies, I can't recall where I read that aboutAmazon dropping customers, but I only visit real news websites. Perhaps a search will turn up info?
I did a quick search & found articles saying they are dropping customers for too many returns. Same concept though. Wth???
