Something that has bothered me since watching Richard Engel's show on the Capitol insurrection

Last edited Tue Apr 13, 2021, 02:23 PM - Edit history (1)

One of the things that has bothered me (outside of the fact we had an attempted coup and justice has been slow IMO) is how few cops there were. I know that it has been reported that there was not enough, but I still thought they had 2,000 officers. While I can understand that there was not enough to defend the perimeter, I would think they would have been able to defend the choke/access points much better than what they did (and I am not trying to take away from those that did try to fight the insurrectionist/traitors - it just seems there was a lack of support).

Anyone else have any thoughts?

ADDED: also, what about the other 3 insurrectionists that were killed. I have not heard as much about the circumstances that they were killed (ie were they armed and/or did they get too close to Pence/Schumer/Pelosi)

I don't think this is the same program, but it looked so interesting to me that I set my DVR to record it. It is airing tomorrow on one of our PBS stations in the bay area, at 10:pm (1.5 hours). I don't see Richard Engel's name associated with it. It looks like an in-depth investigation.

I had hoped he'd have some new news about that but there was nothing.

I want whoever delayed the national guard and other reinforcements to pay dearly for doing that.

There should have been enough police to stop people getting up the steps.

Of course, if that had happened we'd not realized just how serious the threat posed by white wing groups and it would happen somewhere else.

but some were not on duty having worked during the previous night shift, some were assigned to buildings near the actual Capitol, and some might have been on medical leave. The military should have already been there due to threats by the insurrectionists

.... was under the control of a trDUMP guy.

The head of the Capitol Police,... was a trDUMP guy.

He controlled scheduling and job assignments.

He controlled any assignment/need for Washington D C Metropolitan Police to work the Capitol as back up.

The National Guard was also intended as a back up to Capitol Police. The DoD Secretary moved all decisions for the deployment of the National Guard up to the higher echelon of the DoD,... one of who was the brother of trDUMP's General Flynn who was just given a presidential pardon.

Needless to say the National Guard was slow to deploy to the Capitol because trDUMP,'s team at the Pentagon would not issue their okay to deploy the National Guard to back up the Capitol Police during the height of the insurrection. These trDUMP cronies were the only ones who
were allowed to deploy the National Guard as per a dictate of trDUMP's Secretary of Defense issued a few days before.

It is like trDUMP intentionally boxed the US Capitol into a very dangerous situation where as he intended to have his goons over power the Capitol Police and have his Fascist goons overwhelmingly over power them by number and strength to annihilate and crush the Capitol Police. so then trDUMP could deny the Capitol Police any form of back up to increase the force or equalize the force trDUMP's goons were inflicting upon the Capitol Police.

The end result and/or intention was for trDUMP's Fascist goons and Nazi Militias to execute a Coup d' tat,... cancel the election of Biden by force and install trDUMP as the new Nazi Emperor.

TrDUMP and his minions fully controlled any/every/all police force that could prevent this Militia Junta/Coup d'tat from happening.

By the skin of our teeth democracy at the end of the day was able to prevail.

Three cops died. One from being killed that day and two from suicides a little later.

I watched it unfold that morning. Cops were bantering with the crowd, even until after it soured. With a few exceptions, I don’t think anyone there really expected this to go down the way it did. “It can’t happen here”, right? That’s what we were all so sure of, because I’d heard threats like this every election lately. Never followed through though.

I’m wondering how much the rot within the cops felt the need to keep it’s head down? Do the cops follow the “blue line” rah-rah bullshit even when it becomes obvious that it’s going to destroy them too? How blatant is it where we can’t see?

10. D.C. medical examiner releases cause of death for four people who died during Capitol riot
Tue Apr 13, 2021, 03:33 PM
Apr 2021
Two civilians who died during the violent Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol died of natural causes, and a third succumbed to amphetamine intoxication, according to the D.C. medical examiner’s office.

A fourth person, 35-year-old Ashli Babbitt, who was fatally shot by a Capitol police officer inside the Capitol, was struck by a bullet to her front left shoulder, the medical examiner said in a statement.

...

That statement said autopsies concluded that Kevin Greeson, 55, of Athens, Ala., and Benjamin Philips, 50, of Ringtown, Pa., died of natural causes due to cardiovascular disease. The medical examiner ruled that Rosanne Boyland, 34, of Kennesaw, Ga., died of accidental acute amphetamine intoxication.
