I bet that would slow the shootings of unarmed individuals.

(19,835 posts)Docking the pension funds might increase peer pressure to reduce number of occurrences but there will always be some occurrences and public servant pension funds around the country are already in rough shape.
At most maybe set the insurance plan up so a bad cop has to go or everyone bears the cost of higher premiums.

(15,797 posts)Do we do that with teacher payouts? Congress payouts? Ect. I understand what your saying but if this is done it needs to be across the board in all facets of government life.

(50,927 posts)Not all of the money even goes to the purpose given.
They want money to lobby. Excuse me. But private-sector unions rely on voluntary contributions from their members. Not the public or those from outside.
They want money to support those that lose their life while a public safety officer. Excuse me. Private-sector unions rely on the goodness of their fellow union members to help out when needed. And their union contract helps out in those situations. What the hell are public-sector unions doing with their contracts and dues? They receive good wages and benefits.
They use public vehicles and time on the public dime for their funerals. Excuse me. Private-sector unions attend funerals of their fellow union members on their own dime and vehicle.
I support public-safety employees with my tax dollars paid with property taxes.
