Only 0.008% of fully vaccinated population get covid infections, and those are mostly mild:

CDC identifies only 5,800 Covid-19 infections after the final vaccine, out of more than 66 million. And those who got it had mild cases.

To be clear, not every single post vaccine case has been mild — but most have. There have been 74 out 66 million people who have died after being vaccinated.

1. Asymptomatic and most mild cases are probably going undetected unless people have to be tested

There are studies going on now which are - as you suggest - regularly testing post-vaccination to confirm our suspicion that the vaccines actually prevent illness, not just severe illness or death.

4. i wouldn't rule that out; but in fairness, it's premature and we're not comparing apples to apples

we've got the whole mask and social distancing and working from home thing going on now, whereas other vaccines generally involve just taking it and immediately going back into normal routines with a high degree of social interaction.

hopefully we will continue to see strong numbers (and i suspect we will) once people start returning to normal, pre-pandemic behaviors; but we haven't tested that scenario yet.
