Gaetz frantically promotes Project Veritas video to discredit reporting on his sex trafficking ties

Last edited Thu Apr 15, 2021, 03:19 PM - Edit history (1)

Two women who attended Florida parties with Rep. Matt Gaetz have described to CNN an environment in which people did drugs and had sex and money changed hands afterward. But get this—the description of these parties is supposed to make Gaetz look better than recent reporting on an investigation into whether he participated in sex trafficking of a minor: “One of the women who spoke to CNN said she did so in part because the picture of Gaetz as potentially connected to sex trafficking that has emerged in recent days does not align with what she saw.”

No, seriously: Matt Gaetz was at parties with cocaine and ecstasy and sex for money, and that’s supposed to be an improvement on the previous reporting, apparently because neither woman who spoke to CNN saw any obviously underage girls at those specific parties.

The parties the women described to CNN sometimes functioned as after-parties to political events, happening in a gated community or in hotel suites. Women were asked to put away their cell phones—can’t have pictures getting out—and drugs including cocaine and ecstasy circulated. Gaetz himself took some kind of pills, according to one woman who described him acting like a “frat type of party boy.”

One of the women said that she was paid by former Seminole County tax commissioner Joel Greenberg, Gaetz’s associate, for providing sex, though she didn’t name names. Significantly, while she wouldn’t say who she did have sex with, she did say she never received money directly from Gaetz. So she was willing to exonerate him on one point, but not the other. We know, from Venmo records, that Gaetz has a history of sending Greenberg money to “hit up [woman’s name],” with Greenberg then sending the same amount of money on to multiple women. “Didn’t take money directly from Gaetz, but did take it from Greenberg,” then, doesn’t mean you didn’t get money from Gaetz. For sex.

Yes but we already know about the Venmo transactions.

Matt Gaetz's Woes Deepen As New Report Details Associate's Shady Venmo Payments

As details suggesting Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-Fla.) involvement in an alleged sex scandal continue to escalate, new reporting from The Daily Beast on Wednesday suggested his associate Joel Greenberg made scores of suspicious Venmo payments to dozens of young women, including a minor.

Greenberg, a former Seminole County tax collector in Florida and the suspected leader of a cash-for-sex network, reportedly made more than 150 payments to women on the cash transfer app, including in June 2017, when he sent $300 for “Food” to a girl who was 17 at the time.

The transactions were for hundreds and sometimes more than a thousand dollars, and were often sent with suggestive text or emojis in the subject fields.

This included a payment from Gaetz to Greenberg on Nov. 1, 2018, with the “love hotel” emoji as the memo. According to The Daily Beast, Greenberg booked one night at a luxury hotel in Winter Park, Florida, on that date.

I think the average MAGAT is not phased by the sex and drug parties. Some of my former acquaintances that became MAGATS loved that shit in the "Wolf of Wall Street". Of course, the women would still be slut-shamed, but there is no hedonism too extreme for the guys.

I personally have no problems with parties, drugs, sex for money, etc... Not my personal choice to participate, but as long as all are consenting adults and no one is being exploited, it is what people do. My problem is obviously the rank hypocrisy of women being shamed for participating in the very same activities as the men AND in the fact that right wingers try to hold this moralistic superiority over liberals, when they are participating in the very activities they call "immoral" if a liberal is engaging in it.

Mind you, liberals are typically the ones advocating for using protection, for regulating sex work (to protect women from being exploited), and we try not to judge anyone's sexual preferences and activities, for making drugs legal and safe for recreative use, etc...

The average MAGA/Conservative is a pos hypocrite.

The feds have had Gaetz' iPhone since last December. Greenberg was arrested long ago and has been singing like a birdie for some time now. Why is Gaetz still walking around uncharged?
