'22 MidTerm. Between Redistricting and new Maps, a daunting challenge.

Now that Julia Letlow has been sworn in, the Democratic majority margin in the House stands at TWO.

What do we know about how the Census will affect the races?

With the pandemic, the Census was delayed but it looks like data will be mostly released by the end of this month. A number of States have statutory deadlines for Census data to give time for redistricting and map drawing.

17 States stand to lose/gain seats.

Ca, Il, Mi, Mn, Oh, Pa, RI and WV are set to lose ONE SEAT EACH.

New York could lose TWO.

Texas will gain THREE, FL +2, and +1 for AZ, CO, Mt, Nc and Or.

Due to State laws, there will be a rush to draw new District maps at the State level. This will be done over the Summer.

Redistricting will give GOP a boost of over TEN seats considering the gerrymandering sure to follow.

Add in Voter Restriction laws... be ready!! GOTV!!

With census, it will be hard to keep house. I read Rhode Island loses a seat. That’s a guaranteed Democratic house member gone. New York can get rid of two republicans seats which helps. Vote!!!!!!!

how the republicans would control the House and Senate for years to come. And that Trump could not be stopped. Don't know if you remember him.

Here's one

https://fox4kc.com/news/what-the-release-of-2020-census-numbers-means/

NOTE: that's not FoxNews. It's a local channel, no relation to Hannity and the Tucker dooshbag crew.

And and re: your "interesting" comment...

It is.

We need to have people at work NOW to mitigate the damage done by the redistricting and voting restrictions.

It's not the time to give up and it's not the time to bury our heads in sand. It's a major threat.

EVERY policy initiative out of the WH must be made thinking about 2022 (next year)

#1 The recovering economy MUST run through 2022, at least. A recession in '22 hurts badly.

#2 President Biden needs to continue the cool and "no-drama" good governance. People like it.

#3 Avoid "hot button" legislation that can be used as a weapon in 22

He's standing directly in the way of SB1. HR1 passed.

It needs to pass NOW, so it can be signed into law by the President BEFORE states have the chance to further gerrymander and restrict the ability of people to vote against republicons. We can't wait until next year and expect to undo everything a few weeks before the election.

Without it, we are likely looking at the last time Democrats control anything. They are passing their voter suppression laws as fast as they can, and will re-district everything in their favor.

California, for example...

has a non-partisan method of districting... the "lost seat" just might be a Democrat.

I'll bet money that ALL 3 of those NEW TX and 2 FL seats will be GOP wins.
