to drop coverage if people over a certain age DON'T get the COVID vaccine?
I Googled and can't find anything, but this rumor is running rampant in my mom's senior living community. Specifically saying AETNA is threatening to discontinue coverage if people don't get the vaccine.
Given how little mandatory measures have been enforced (unfortunately), I can't believe this is true. It would be all over right-wing media and I can't find anything. Unfortunately, even this rumored threat won't be enough to encourage some to get vaccinated.

(17,002 posts)conditions I dont see how they can do that. I can see them offering all kinds of incentives to get the vaccine.

(25,464 posts)Our insurance is through Aetna and there has been nothing like that even hinted at.
It's rather nonsensical, really. Sounds like part of the same Republican/anti-vaxxer nonsense that's constantly barraging seniors (and everyone else, for that matter.)

(54,770 posts)With that said, it might not be a bad idea. The rest of us will have to cover the costs of anti-vaxxers.

(31,109 posts)There is SO MUCH insurance companies would be doing if republicans had free reign.
There would be NO Medicare were it not for people like Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden or democrats in general. LBJ, etc.
Look at what has happened to the SC because people could not stop themselves from endless BASHING AND TRASHING of our 2016 candidate.

The Republican Party is disgustingly different nowadays, but roughly half voted for Medicare back then.

(3,493 posts)Because the vaccines aren't fully approved by FDA; they are only approved for emergency use.
