What happened to the ACA extra extra help?

We we supposed to start seeing extra funding to either help people have lower premiums for the plan they have or for them to be able to buy a better plan for what they're paying now. Has anyone seen anything yet? PA is still "working on it" (just like they're "working on" things like unemployment) and with the glacial rate things go here, the year will be over before anything gets done.

If your state uses the federal ACA website, you need to reopen and submit Politicub Apr 2021 #2

I just posted on this the other day.

Apparently it’s up to us to get in contact with our insurance companies, although mine actually sent me a letter advising me to check it out.

your application to get the extra savings. I received an extra $90 off per month on my plan. The instructions are on the homepage. It’s pretty clear and painless.

If you don’t change your application on healthcare.gov, you will not receive the additional subsidies until you do your taxes in 2022 (for federal exchange site users... not sure how it will work with state-run sites).

You can also call the healthcare.gov number and someone there can help, too.

"Supposedly" (from who I just spoke to), the additional help is being added onto peoples accounts little by little and I *shouldn't* have to do anything. We shall see...

I'm going get online today.

This is the 1st I've heard about it, and why on Earth should we have to re-apply? Shouldn't it just be applied to premiums?

Going to healtcare.org is a 1 time a year thing for most.

I believe they went the route of having people reapply so they didn't need to do a big overhaul of the website to accommodate a new function. The site uses your income to calculate your readjusted subsidy. And like I said, if you don't take the extra savings now, you will get it back on your taxes for this year.

The Biden HHS has streamlined the application, though. It kept getting more and more onerous under the Trump administration.

lower my premium from 411.00 to 157.00 a month. Just resubmitted my application for subsidy amount and boom. Very easy and very happy.
