Reading about the deaths of Covid deniers puts me in an interesting situation.

I pity them. I pity their friends and their families. I wish that they had been smarter and safer. Yet, they are killing people. Just like tossing a grenade into a crowd. Just like the Nazi soldiers. That soldier had a mother and might have had a wife and child. Sad that they died, but.. The Nazi soldier was marching for evil, probably racist and was a tool used by nasty people.

Much like the Nazi soldier, only much more likely to kill an innocent person, Covid deniers are probably racist, definitely brainwashed and at least in a few areas they are both sociopaths and stupid. They could have died by the normal chances, but they increased their odds and everyone else's odds by their actions. They are enemies to society. You see them in stores and they are for the most part bullies and proud to be causing others concern.

When a denier dies of Covid, it is a sad thing yet it is the only cure. When an enemy soldier dies, it is not wonderful. Yet we will and should celebrate that number. Give what honor you can to the fallen soldier, even as an enemy he was not as dangerous or as casually uncaring as the Covid denier.

This virus is not “fake news”, nor a “hoax”, nor a “flu”.

It’s a SARS virus, it’s real and it’s killing people.

I wish that it was possible to explain things without horrid examples happening, but these folks have an odd resistance to perception. When it hits close to home, some see the light, but a lot of them double down. Until their peers all agree that they are reprehensible and stupid, they are unlikely to see the truth.

When you compare human sentience to just about any other evolved mechanism in nature, it is quite a new thing. I hope man lasts long enough for the kinks and bugs in the system to get ironed out.

I wonder at the thought of a multi-generational space craft. Sadly I think a generation after the first and you will have people insisting on keeping both doors to the airlock open in order to save time.

It's every man for themselves at this point in the pandemic. Covidiots, anti-maskers, and anti-vaxxers are everywhere. Cases are going up again. Variants are popping up all over. All we can do is get vaccinated, wear good masks (KN95, N95, KN94 ect), social distance, avoid indoor crowded areas, and stay away from the Covidiots (who are more likely to be infected). Make sure loved ones are being safe as well.

We may just have a clear example made by red state and blue state statistics.
