Until the pandemic hit, my Dad went to see my Mom every day.

Then they let him have some outside visits.

Then inddoors, a few times a week.

Near the end of her life, he was allowed to be there as much as he wanted. They had moved her to a room all to herself. The facility had been several months w/o a single case (residents or staff).

How sweet - and so sad to have to go through that.
So special that they made special accommodations for them - and what a sweet memory of your folks in COVID time.

....86 years old she fell and broke a couple of ribs. She had to be hospitalized for a week or so. They allowed my father (two years younger than her) to sleep in a chair in her room every night.

They wound up being married for 65 years.

Years ago, they planned for a "companion urn" for their ashes. Dad has Mom's ashes at home, and his will go in the other side of the urn.

He goes into the spare room to speak to her every day.

My folks truly had a sweet love story. They met when Dad was 15 and Mom was 12. They were together for 4 years before they married.

And ya know what? She is still a hot chick! What a great figure, and beautiful hair!

I think I'll go hit the elliptical machine for a while!
