Fascists operate by Testing the Fences. No, MTG is not done with her "America First"

#KuKluxKlan caucus.

This was a test to see what she could get away with easily. If you have read "On Tyranny" by Timothy Snyder you know he says that most of a tyrant's power is given to him or her without even asking for it.

This was a limits-testing exercise and she is not done. At all.

the leadership of a woman. Authoritarian movements are always strongly male dominated, and a big part of their energy comes from the male members' need subjugate women, accepted by the female members. And fascism, where it applies, is an extreme form of RW authoritarianism.

My guess is that if this noise of the moment got any encouragement at all from better entrenched colleagues, it was merely from some interested in the possibility of hooking onto her gravy train.

Except for that small subset of ammosexuals that get an erection when they see a woman with a gun. And they would still seek to ultimately dominate her, not follow her.

tools that shut them down.

It's more about what they do than what they say. We need to pay attention to that because when they're busy, that's posing; it's those around them, what their "aides" do, that indicates what the electeds are really doing. In MTG's case, nothing. Her goal is to appear powerful without doing anything for anyone, just make them believe she is. That spokesperson? That guy runs messaging.

Some of it, I believe is her extreme jealousy of AOC- smart, well spoken, has a true following, classy, educated, accomplished, groomed...which she is none of. I think this is margarine’s answer to the squad, which is laughable..and pitiful

... made little sense to me, in a democracy, but perhaps that was part of it? Not even the Magna Carta came about until long after the Norman conquest of England!

So the accusations of racist dog-whistles is probably correct, although I'll admit that I NEVER knew it was ever used by racists in this country!

Years ago, when I was home-brewing lots of English ales (with my ancestry almost entirely from England), I bought this shirt:

If someone had accused me of being racist for wearing it, I would've truly been confused by it. It's not like I want to waste much of my life focusing on the KKK and other white supremacists!

Or maybe modern-day Republicans really would like a return to the feudalism of old England when the Anglo-Saxons were in power? That's how many businesses basically operate, and right-wingers seem to want them to have complete power without any democratically-elected government ever meddling in their mini-tyrannies!

the dogwhistles stop with the Anglo Saxon stuff, and as long as they try to use it as cover for their white supremacy, it's got to get damped down. Maybe it's temporary. I hope so. Your symbol isn't confusing, either.

But hey, might as well do a symbol review... and this group isn't all of them, by any stretch...

... themselves with various stuff, like the "ok" finger symbol.

I'd hate to wave at someone and then have someone charge at me, saying that I was doing the "supremacist wave" or whatever.

I'm exaggerating about that, of course, but sheesh... I certainly never knew about "Anglo-Saxon" being associated with them!

Aryan? Well, of course.

And the symbol on that shirt is the old English flag, still worn by the England football (soccer) team as far as I know.

Edit: I'm convinced that MTG was aware of any such association, though. I'm just saying that I never knew about it until this story came out.
